From idea to real users: a founder’s SaaS checklist
By Suleman Hussain
An idea is not a product. A product has users, feedback loops, and operational truth.
Start with a sharp problem, ship a thin vertical slice, instrument activation, then automate the painful manual edges. AI can accelerate generation — it cannot replace judgment about what to build next.
The checklist I use before calling something “live”: one primary persona, one activation event, one billing boundary (even if manual), one support inbox, and one rollback story. Without those five, you have a demo with traffic.
Growth loops come after activation. Internal linking between tools, comparisons, and product pages compounds on a founder domain without buying a second marketing site. Keep the loop honest — no fake social proof, no invented schema ratings.
MSH OS is the latest expression of this checklist on msulemanhussain.com: auth, workspaces, and async jobs on the same origin as the public brand. The checklist still applies even when the stack is heavier than a landing page.
